Damn!

booted up the old standby today. My old windows 98 machine.

All I needed was to get one file out of this computer and into another one.

tried the usb memory stick....can't find the driver
tried to send a email to myself.... the SMTP server timed out
Tried to make a cd rom..... unable to find the cd rom driver
reinstalled the driver....can not make a disk because the disk is full

tried to send the file via ftp to my website... unable to communicate with web interface

at last.. dug out an old usb back up drive, copied the file over to the back up drive and then from that drive to the other computer.

God... I just hate the windows operating system..

Rant off!

when I get some time, I'll have to run over to best buy and see what they have in software. I think I got spyware or some other bugs in it.. Don't want to re-install the system if there are critter lurking inside.

Don't know if that will work or not.. I can't seem to open any web pages, but other times it works..

I know older post, but...

I use the spybot, the Ccleaner, and also AVG (free antivirus) and Ad-ware (lavasoft.com)

These programs have helped me get out of a couple binds.. Now if I can figure out why Firefox keeps crashing lately..
